Fody's Monster Rice Krispie Treats

Description of Fody's Monster Rice Krispie Treats

Whip up some fun this Halloween with these spooky rice krispie treats! They’re made with only 3 ingredients (crispy cereal, peanut butter & maple syrup) then dipped in colored white chocolate & decorated with sprinkles and candy eyes! Your whole family will love them!

Fody's Monster Rice Krispie Treats Ingredients:

  • 3 cups crispy rice cereal (Rice Krispies)
  • ¾ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • Salt, to taste
  • 4 oz. white chocolate (about ¾ cup)
  • 1- 1½ tsp coconut oil
  • Food coloring of your choice
  • Candy eyes (made with low fodmap ingredients)
  • Sprinkles (made with low fodmap ingredients)

        Directions for Fody's Monster Rice Krispie Treats

        Line an 8x8 inch pan with parchment paper and set it aside.

        Then pour your peanut butter and maple syrup into a pot on the stove and heat it over medium heat. Stir occasionally until smooth and the peanut butter has slightly melted.

        Next add your rice cereal and peanut butter mixture to a large bowl and stir them together until they’re fully incorporated. Press the mixture into your prepared pan and place the pan in the freezer for 30 minutes.

        Right before the rice krispies are done, heat your white chocolate and coconut oil together in the microwave at 30 second intervals until the chocolate has melted completely. (Stir between each interval. You may need to add more oil to make it smoother.) Then stir in your food coloring. (I did 3 drops in mine.)

        Cut your rice krispies into 16 bars and dunk them one at a time into your colored white chocolate. Place them on a tray lined with parchment paper and decorate them with candy eyes and sprinkles.

        Place them in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to set then serve immediately.
